UPDATE: The fire in the 1500 block of North Edmonds has been knocked down and all occupants in the apartment are out of the building and safe, said Carson City Fire Chief Sean Slamon. The fire was confined to one unit, he said. The cause is under investigation.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies responded Monday afternoon for a report of a structure fire in the 1500 block of North Edmonds.
At around 2:50 p.m. Carson City dispatch advised Carson City Fire Department of a structure fire in an apartment.
Carson City Fire Department is responding. It is unclear at this time whether or not people are inside the apartment. According to a CCSO deputy, residents have evacuated.
