The Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) program at Carson High School recently received a generous $1,000 donation from Ingevity, in Dayton, Nev., to support the program’s continued leadership development, training and competitive activities.
The donation will help the Carson High NJROTC program cover costs associated with competitions, equipment, travel and other activities that provide cadets with valuable leadership and teamwork experiences throughout the school year.

The Carson High NJROTC program serves dozens of student cadets each year, offering opportunities to build discipline, responsibility and confidence while developing leadership skills that prepare students for success in college, careers and military service.
“Ingevity’s support has made a major impact for our cadets and the Carson High NJROTC program,” said Major Dan Nardiello, NJROTC instructor at Carson High. “Contributions like this from the local community help ensure our students have the resources they need to participate in competitions and leadership opportunities that shape their future both in and out of the classroom.”

Representatives from Ingevity said the company is proud to support local students and programs that emphasize leadership, service and community engagement.
The Carson High NJROTC drill team recently earned first-place overall at a regional competition hosted on the Carson High campus, demonstrating the dedication and commitment of its cadets through strong performances across multiple events.
The partnership reflects the continued support from local businesses and community members who invest in opportunities for students throughout the district.
Additionally, this past weekend, 127 cadets completed their first trail clean-up of the recently adopted Linear Ditch Trail within the Carson City Parks and Recreation trail network.

Cadets spent nearly 4 hours removing and properly disposing of trash, debris, weeds and other items to enhance the extensive trail network within Carson City. The adoption of this trail provides ample opportunity for future clean-ups, community engagement and will emphasize leadership by example from the Senator Battalion.
