On July 4, 2026, Carson City celebrates America’s 250th anniversary with the installation of two garrison U.S. flags in Carson City. The two flags will welcome drivers from the north and south gateways to Carson City.
The public is invited to the flag dedication ceremony, to be held at Carson Tahoe Hospital at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 4.
Organized by the Foundation for Carson City Parks & Recreation, the funding of the garrison U.S. flags initiative is 100% community-driven, with sponsors, donors and contractors providing in-kind services to bring the project to life.
“We’re proud of the support we’ve received for this project,” said Mayor Lori Bagwell. “The overwhelming support from our community, along with the dedication and enthusiasm of our local and state partners, truly affirms the deep pride and love we share for our nation.”
