Carson City will offer four classes, the first beginning Feb. 25, presented by the Financial Guidance Center. The classes will focus on financial literacy and education. All classes are free and will be held in the BRIC Conference Room A at 108 E. Proctor Street from noon to 1:30 p.m.
The following topics will be discussed:
February 25, 2013 – “Making Ends Meet” – A reality check of needs and wants versus available income. Can you manage it?
March 4, 2013 – “Credit 101 – Credit for Today” – Credit reporting, credit histories, credit worthiness, communication with creditors, bankruptcy, advantages and disadvantages of credit, credit abuse and recognizing scams.
March 11, 2013 – “Scams, Rip-offs and Unwise Decisions” – Cautions consumers of the many tricksters whose attractive schemes and offers could prove to be costly. Even more honest ventures simply may not be wise.
March 18, 2013 – “Bank on Nevada” – A guide to financial services for the unbanked and underbanked.
