A 33-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday morning for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
Deputies were dispatched at 5:05 a.m. to a reported fight on Royal Drive. The reporting party stated elderly males were fighting inside a residence. CCSO deputies arrived and heard a man yelling. A deputy knocked on the door and a man answered. The deputy asked who else was in the residence and the man stated his father was inside.
The man who answered the door had a bloody knuckle and bloody right nostril. The deputy asked him to get his father. The man turned around and attempted to close the door. The report notes that due to the unknown circumstances and a second person involved with possible injuries, the deputy did not allow the man to close the door. The man stated the deputy couldn’t do that.
The deputy informed the man he was bleeding and they didn’t have any idea if his father would not come to the door. The man had the door slightly open and the officer could not see inside the residence, the report states.
The man then stepped out of the residence and closed the door. The deputy asked him what was going on. He said they were just trying to go to bed and nothing happened. The man said his father was fine and to allow them to go to bed. The deputy explained to the man they were trying to figure out what was going on and to make sure his father was OK, the report states.
The man then became upset and told the deputies to take him to jail. The officer told the man to calm down. The man said he did not have to calm down. He put his hands straight forward and clenched his fist. The deputy, with the assistance of a second deputy, grabbed his left arm and turned around to place him in handcuffs. The man was escorted to a patrol vehicle.
The deputy continued to knock on the door until the father, who identified himself, opened the door. The deputy observed he was out of breath and sweating profusely. He had several scratch marks on his face, neck and chest. He also had a small laceration on his left eyebrow. The deputy asked him what happened. He stated his son had been drinking and attempted to hit him so he hugged him. That is when the physical altercation happened between both, according to the report.
The deputy requested the Carson City Fire Department to evaluate the man. The deputy took photos of the man’s injuries as he sat on a bed in the living room. Another deputy advised there was a glass pipe with white residue and a butane torch. The deputy collected the pipe and took photos. The father advised his son sleeps in the living room, according to the report.
Deputies went to the patrol vehicle to speak with the suspect, who said the same thing as before while the deputy was attempting to read him his Miranda warning. The deputy said he wanted to hear his part of the story. The suspect stated his dad told him to go to work and that was it. The deputy informed the suspect that he could smell a strong odor of alcohol. The suspect stated his ex-significant came over three hours prior to drink and then continued to say that was it. The deputy asked him about the meth pipe. The man said it wasn’t his. He was booked for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery and drug paraphernalia. Bail: $3,137.
