State Senate candidate to speak at Democratic luncheon

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Aaron Sims, candidate for Nevada State Senate District 16, which emcompasses all of Carson City and parts of South Washoe County. Not having any Democratic primary opposition, he will advance to the November 8th general election. There he will face off against the winner of the June 14th Republican primary. The GOP contenders are Timothy Duvall, Lisa Krasner, Monica Stabbert and incumbent Don Tatro.

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Lupe Ramirez, District 1 candidate for reelection to the Carson City School District Board of Trustees. Lupe currently serves as board Secretary and the board's designated representative to the Student Attendance Review Board and Partnership Carson City. She also serves as the board's liaison with Seeliger Elementary School and Carson High School.

Lisa Schuette, who represents Ward 4 on the Carson City Board of Supervisors, will be the featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon. A Carson City native, Lisa is a retired health teacher and probation officer who is best known as founding chair of the Carson Animal Services Initiative (CASI), which raised the funds needed to build and equip the city's state-of-the-art animal shelter.

Homeless advocate to speak at Monday's Democratic luncheon

Dee Dee Foremaster, Executive Director of the Rural Center for Independent Living (RCIL) will be the featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon. Her presentation will concern the pros and cons of rent control and the need for diversified housing.

Former Carson City sheriff to speak at Democratic luncheon

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Paul McGrath, who served eight years as Sheriff of Carson City (1987-1995). The principal topic of his remarks will be the reasons for his implacable opposition to the legal marijuana trade.

McGrath moved to Nevada in 1955 and married his wife Darlene in 1961. They had four children, two boys and two girls, three of whom pursued careers in public safety. With their children and grandchildren, Paul and Darlene celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2021.

Indian Commission Exec Director to speak at Democratic luncheon

She has served in that position since her appointment by Governor Steve Sisolak on September 1, 2019. As a member of the governor's cabinet, Montooth serves as the administration's liaison with the 27 Nevada tribes, bands, colonies, and 62,000 urban Indians who have chosen Nevada as their second home.

First elected in 2014, Woodbury is now seeking reelection to a third term, during which he looks forward to completing a comprehensive revision to the Municipal Code. He cites the establishment of standard procedures for coroner’s inquests and his office’s crucial role in the arrest and prosecution of serial killer Wilber Martinez-Guzman as among his proudest achievements in office to date.

Giomi serves as the Board of Supervisor's representative on the Carson City Cultural and Tourism Authority, the Carson Water Sub-Conservancy District, and the Western Nevada Legislative Coalition. He is also Carson City’s representative to the Nevada Association of Counties.

He also serves as Chaplin for the Carson City Sheriff's Office. Deacon Craig is also the Founding Director of the Night Off The Streets program, or NOTS for short. To reduce the risk of ill healh or death due to hypothermia, NOTS provides overnight shelter at local churches to people without homes.
