The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Aaron Sims, candidate for Nevada State Senate District 16, which emcompasses all of Carson City and parts of South Washoe County. Not having any Democratic primary opposition, he will advance to the November 8th general election. There he will face off against the winner of the June 14th Republican primary. The GOP contenders are Timothy Duvall, Lisa Krasner, Monica Stabbert and incumbent Don Tatro.

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Lupe Ramirez, District 1 candidate for reelection to the Carson City School District Board of Trustees. Lupe currently serves as board Secretary and the board's designated representative to the Student Attendance Review Board and Partnership Carson City. She also serves as the board's liaison with Seeliger Elementary School and Carson High School.

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon be Stacie Wilke-McCulloch, candidate for Carson City Clerk-Recorder. She represented District 3 on the Carson City School District Board of Trustees twice, from 1999 to 2003 and again from 2009 to present. Prior to the main event, Henderson mayor and Lt Governor candidate Debra March, who will be present as part of a campaign swing through the northern counties, will be afforded an opportunity to introduce herself and say a few words.

Margaret Mello, Ward 3 candidate for the Carson City Board of Supervisors, will be the featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon. Area residents for over 50 years, Margaret and husband Bob are well known for the many years they served the community as concrete contractors.

Lisa Schuette, who represents Ward 4 on the Carson City Board of Supervisors, will be the featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon. A Carson City native, Lisa is a retired health teacher and probation officer who is best known as founding chair of the Carson Animal Services Initiative (CASI), which raised the funds needed to build and equip the city's state-of-the-art animal shelter.

Dee Dee Foremaster, Executive Director of the Rural Center for Independent Living (RCIL) will be the featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon. Her presentation will concern the pros and cons of rent control and the need for diversified housing.

1. Assistance with filling out paper work to apply for services.

2. Assistance with finding stable housing

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Paul McGrath, who served eight years as Sheriff of Carson City (1987-1995). The principal topic of his remarks will be the reasons for his implacable opposition to the legal marijuana trade.

McGrath moved to Nevada in 1955 and married his wife Darlene in 1961. They had four children, two boys and two girls, three of whom pursued careers in public safety. With their children and grandchildren, Paul and Darlene celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2021.

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Carson City Sheriff Kenny Furlong. He'll be prepared to field questions on any topic on the minds of attendees. Kenny is the 26th sheriff to serve Carson City and Ormsby County since 1861, not counting Carson City Sheriff Chon Wang, played by Jackie Chan in Shanghai Knights.

Today, Democratic candidate Aaron Sims officially filed to run for state senate, district 16 in this year’s election. He filed this morning at 10:00AM at the Nevada Secretary of State’s office in Carson City.

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Nevada Indian Commission Executive Director Stacey Montooth. She has served in that position since her appointment by Governor Steve Sisolak on September 1, 2019. As a member of the governor's cabinet, Montooth serves as the administration's liaison with the 27 Nevada tribes, bands, colonies, and 62,000 urban Indians who have chosen Nevada as their second home.

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Carson City District Attorney Jason Woodbury. First elected in 2014, Woodbury is now seeking reelection to a third term, during which he looks forward to completing a comprehensive revision to the Municipal Code. He cites the establishment of standard procedures for coroner’s inquests and his office’s crucial role in the arrest and prosecution of serial killer Wilber Martinez-Guzman as among his proudest achievements in office to date.

Featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be former Carson City Fire Chief Stacey Giomi, currently a member of the Board of Supervisors representing Ward 1. He assumed office on January 7, 2019 and has announced his intention to run for reelection later this year.

Giomi serves as the Board of Supervisor's representative on the Carson City Cultural and Tourism Authority, the Carson Water Sub-Conservancy District, and the Western Nevada Legislative Coalition. He is also Carson City’s representative to the Nevada Association of Counties.

The Carson Comedy Club presents celebrity comedian Dave Mencaralli this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 4-5, at the Carson Nugget in Carson City. Shows begin at 8 p.m. and are hosted by comedian Brian Lee.

Her presentation will be an update on the status of her efforts to obtain stable sources of grant funding for the organization's ongoing activities, and ways that members of the public might be able to help with those efforts.

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Deacon Craig LaGier, St. Vincent Advisor and Minister to the Homeless at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Community. He also serves as Chaplin for the Carson City Sheriff's Office. Deacon Craig is also the Founding Director of the Night Off The Streets program, or NOTS for short. To reduce the risk of ill healh or death due to hypothermia, NOTS provides overnight shelter at local churches to people without homes.

The featured speaker at Monday's Carson City Democratic luncheon will be Nevada's First Lady, Kathy Sisolak. This will be a unique opportunity for the governor's better half to introduce herself, talk about her extensive career in public life, and discuss the issues and causes she feels most passionate about.

Monday's Democratic luncheon will feature a presentation by Donald Easton-Brooks Ph.D., Dean of the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Nevada-Reno. The theme of his remarks will be the need for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) to be a major part of engaging with today's communities. With people of color already representing 50% of the U.S.

Elissa Cadish, Associate Justice of the Nevada Supreme Court, will be the featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon. Justice Cadish was elected in the November 2018 general election, filling the seat vacated by Michael Cherry. Her term ends in January, 2025. At the luncheon she will explain what the court does and discuss some noteworthy cases she has participated in deciding.

C.I.R.C.L.E.S. is a cooperative community effort to elevate people out of poverty by intentionally creating relationships across class lines, and empowering them to chart their own course towards self-sufficiency.

Middle East history buff Howard Beckerman will lead an in-depth conversation about the historical roots of the multiple Middle Eastern conflicts and blood feuds at Monday's Democratic luncheon.

The proud husband of Nevada Supreme Court Justice Elissa Cadish and proud father of teenage daughter Shayna, Howard describes himself as a "seeker of knowledge in a never-ending quest to understand the root causes of why and how." And it shows.

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Sam Shad, host of Nevada Newsmakers, the state’s premier news and political program. Sam has been covering Nevada politics on radio, television, online and via podcasts for the past 27 years. During this time he has interviewed every major political figure in the Silver State. He was inducted into the Nevada Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2000.
