Carson City sheriff's detectives search for pair who robbed home at gunpoint early Sunday
Two armed men kicked in doors of a Carson City home early Sunday morning, holding two at gunpoint while taking items and demanding a safe, a Carson City Sheriff's Office detective said.
No one was hurt in the robbery, reported to the Carson City Sheriff's Office at 4:49 a.m. in the 1200 block of Canvasback Drive, said Detective Sal Acosta. Both men ransacked the home, occupied by a 101-year-old man and a caretaker, before leaving and remain at large, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.
One suspect was described as about 5 feet 5 inches, possibly white or Hispanic wearing a dark jacket with several pockets, hooded sweatshirt, gloves, and a blue bandana on his face carrying possibly a .45 caliber handgun.
The second suspect was described as a taller male, possibly black male, 5 foot 7 inches to 5 foot 9 inches, wearing a royal blue "LA" hooded sweatshirt with an "Olveras" and number "8" stamped on it.
Both men left with an unknown amount of items in a smaller car, possibly silver or blue color. Anyone with information is asked to cal detective Sal Acosta at (775) 283-7855, email at sacosta@carson.org or call Carson City Sheriff's Office dispatch at (775) 887-2011.
