Four wins on TV show 'Jeopardy' for Carson City native Rachel Lindgren
Carson City native Rachel Lindgren extends her reign on popular TV quiz-show “Jeopardy!,” besting her opponents for the fourth time on Wednesday's program.
Lindgren has a passion for trivia and regularly attends “trivia night” at Platypus Pub in Bend, Oregon where she currently resides. Lately the pub has been hosting viewing parties with dozens of locals gathering to watch Lindgren compete on “Jeopardy!”
Local bar owner Mike Lloyd has had the TV tuned to “Jeopardy!” at The Tap Shack on Rice, Street this week as well, with Carson City’s Lindgren supporters cheering her on.
“We enjoy watching a Carson City local do so well,” he said.
Wednesday’s opponents included Eric, a pastor from Somerset, PA and Del, a data scientist from San Francisco, CA. Lindgren took control by running a category about small cats while seemingly revealing her passion of such. She managed to hold a lead going into Final Jeopardy with a score of $12,800 versus $7,300 for Del and $4,800 for Eric.
Only Eric had the correct answer of the Final Jeopardy question, but Lindgren had enough of a cushion to hang on after wagering a small bet of $1,801 to win the match with a score of $10,999 and a four-day total of $65,199.
Lindgren will be competing for the fifth time on Thursday, at 7 p.m. on ABC’s Northern Nevada affiliate, KOLO — channel 8, locally.
