UPDATE: Carson City Fire Department reports that it has made entry into the third floor apartment unit at 1800 Russell Way and found that the source of smoke was food burning on a stove and that there wasn’t a fire.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies responded late Saturday morning to 1800 Russell Way for a report of smoke coming out of an apartment unit.
Called into dispatch at 11:46 a.m., multiple fire engines responded. Dispatch had advised that a single caller said that smoke was coming out of an apartment and that it is unknown whether anyone was inside.
Arriving first responders report not seeing any smoke from the exterior and investigated the unit where the smoke was reportedly seen by the reporting party.
People should stay clear of the area to allow for firefighter access. We will update as information becomes available.
