Nevada gaming revenue down 3.1 percent in July, Carson City sees 3.34 percent decrease

Gaming generated revenue at Carson City area casinos was down 3.34 percent in July over 2021 July figures, according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board's monthly report. Statewide, gambling revenue was down 3.17 percent.

Nevada adds 7,700 jobs in July; unemployment rate falls to 4.4 percent

Nevada added 7,700 jobs in July, with employment having fully recovered the jobs lost in the pandemic, and is now up 12,200 jobs since February 2020, according to the state's Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation’s July 2022 economic report.

Carson City second Arby's to open mid-September

The new Carson City Arby's has an opening date of Sept. 19, according to the Carson City Business License Division.

However, it is not known if this will be a date to begin serving the public, or rather if it is when hiring and training will begin.

The new Arby’s, the second location in Carson City, is currently being built at 2943 Hwy 50 East. The construction has moved very quickly, after breaking ground in mid-July.

Darryl Fisher, a Dayton, Nev. resident and founder of Carson City, Nev.-based nonprofit Dream Flights, was awarded the Ford Oval of Honor Thursday night, July 29, 2022, at Wright Patterson Air Force Base Museum, Vandalia, Ohio.

He was among four recipients, including ret. U.S. Air Force Colonel Colleen Ryan, ret. U.S. Air Force Colonel Cassie Barlow, and ret. U.S. Air Force Lieutenant General Richard V. Reynolds.
