There will be work at the following locations as a result of the Freeway Landscaping Project. No closures are expected, but traffic control will be in effect.

  • College Parkway in the vicinity of the Freeway.
  • US Highway 50 in the vicinity of the Freeway.
  • Northgate Lane between Jumbo Court and Dyer Court.
  • Emerson Drive between Mark Way and College Parkway.
  • North Carson Street, in the vicinity of the freeway overpass.

Carson City Parks and Rec meeting on new land acquisition

The Carson City Parks and Recreation Department invites the public to attend an informational meeting on the acquisition of property for a future neighborhood park along Imus Road in north Carson City.

The meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 16, 5:30 - 7:30 P.M.m in the Bonanza Room at the Carson City Community Center.

The Nevada Department of Transportation is willing to relinquish at no cost to Carson City 12.21 acres of surplus property acquired for the construction of the Carson City Freeway for the development of a future neighborhood park along Imus Road.

CTRH Auxiliary Rummage Sale

The Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare Auxiliary will hold a Rummage Sale on Friday, April 13, from 8:00AM to 4:00PM and Saturday, April 14th from 8:00AM to 12:00PM. The Sale will be conducted at the Eagles Lodge, 1380 E. 5th Street (Between Roop St. and Saliman) in Carson City.
If you wish to donate items for the Rummage Sale, they may be taken to the Eagles Lodge, Wednesday, April 11 and Thursday, April 12th from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Auxiliary members will be there to accept your donations. NO LARGE APPLIANCES, COMPUTERS, OR EXERCISE EQUIPMENT PLEASE!

Nevada Health Centers, Inc. Helps Thousands of Nevadans Receive Health Care Through Brick Campaign

Carson City, Nev. (March 13, 2012) – As Nevada faces yet another challenge in national health rankings, the Nevada Health Centers, Inc. takes a stand to improve health access in the Silver state. Nevada Health Centers, Inc. (NVHC), a non-profit organization, has built a 21,000-square-foot health facility dedicated to helping people in our local area receive access to health care. The new building will double the space of , the existing health center and will also house the administration staff. There will be additional space to see more patients. Nevada Health Centers, Inc.

Get up! Stand up! with Occupy Carson City participants as we speak out against government failures and corporate abuses on Saturdays from 12-2pm. As fellow citizens, we will peacefully rally for immediate change on the public sidewalks in front of the State Legislative building at 401 S. Carson St. downtown.

We have music and plenty of signs; feel free to bring a flag, your own sign, and any musical instrument (small drums, flutes and maracas are nice for our short marches).

Workshop and Clinic for Self-Represented Litigants

CARSON CITY, NEVADA-Carson City Library and Nevada Legal Services have teamed together to provide free legal educational clinics and workshops every 4th Thursday, of each month. The next clinic is scheduled on Thursday, March 22nd. The 1:00 workshop will provide general instructions and assistance regarding the completion of self-help forms for those who are self-represented litigants. A Notary Public will also be available. Following the self-help workshop, a free legal education clinic will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Family Law Education will be the topic covered on the 22nd.

Data collection for Lake Tahoe travel mode survey begins today

The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency will conduct travel surveys with visitors and residents at several recreational and commercial locations throughout the Basin beginning this Friday, February 24. The interviewing, to be carried out by a professional survey research company, is scheduled to take place through Sunday, March 4. Surveyors will wear badges while patrolling survey sites. Results from the Travel Mode Survey will be used to track the success of and help plan multi-modal travel options around Lake Tahoe.
