Days after President Kennedy was assassinated, Frank Sinatra, Jr., just barely an adult, was in the midst of a tour getting his music career off the ground.

On his tour during a snowy Tahoe December, he performed at the Harrah’s Club Lodge in Lake Tahoe.

Little did he know he had a few followers trailing him from city to city, and they weren’t hopeful fans, but instead, hopeful foes.

Hollywood screenwriter to hold workshop at Brewery Arts Center March 2

Three Carson City art students named 2019 Scholastic Art Award winners

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Museum of Art announced the 2019 Scholastic Art Award Winners, and on the list were a senior and junior from Carson High and one seventh-grader from Carson Middle School. Emily Richardson, 17-years-old, Sarah Woods, 17-years-old, Keira Serpa, 13-years-old, were all recognized as Gold Key winners.

Nevada Enrichment Program offers free classes to the community

Thanks to the Nevada Enrichment Program Grant, Life Skills Trainer Monica Marcinko from Accessible Space, Inc., is now able to offer free life skill classes to the community. The classes are open to all adults with special needs, seniors, veterans, etc.

Sitcom pilot filmed at Carson Nugget featuring SNL alum to air daily on Charter cable

UPDATE: Episodes of the new television sitcom "Casino Boss" will begin airing Monday, Dec. 31, 2018 on Charter Spectrum Cable Channel 190, the Carson Nugget said.
The program will then air daily at 4 p.m., 8 p.m. and 12 a.m. until Jan. 31, 2019.

The pilot episode of “Casino Boss,” a TV sitcom filmed this summer in Carson City about the inner workings of a casino starring comedian, actor and Saturday Night Live alum Joe Piscopo will be shown on Charter cable sometime in the near future.

Carson City Obituary: Andrew Ortiz

Andrew Ortiz, 27, of Carson City, Nev., passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018. Andrew was born with much joy in Carson City to Dan and Katie Ortiz on September 12, 1991.

He graduated from Carson High School. He worked as a Caregiver for Chrysalis. He served in the Army. He was involved in various recording projects, and he loved creating music with every fiber of his being. He was passionate about writing lyrics and poetry.
