Carson City road report: NDOT to install flashing yield signs at I-580 on-ramps

Over the next two weeks, the Nevada Department of Transportation will activate new flashing yield signs on certain Interstate 580 Carson City Freeway on-ramps. The new yield signs located at the base of both northbound and southbound I-580 on-ramps from College Parkway and U.S. 50, East William Street will feature flashing yellow beacon lights at the top.

Unsettled weather is ahead for the Carson City region over the next few days beginning with a weak and warm storm moving into the area, which accounts for the gusty conditions Thursday morning. This will be followed by another system Friday into Saturday, bringing some valley rain that may turn to light snow showers later this weekend.

Carson City man arrested on warrant after girlfriend locked him in garage during argument

A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Saturday morning for a Department of Alternative Sentencing violation after his girlfriend sent a family member text messages that said “help me” and “call the police,” a sheriff's deputy report states.
