Carson City Sheriff's Office says runaway teen found in Reno

UPDATE 7:39PM: A runaway, juvenile Christian Zarate, was found safe in Reno by the Carson City Sheriff's Office with the assistance of the Nevada Highway Patrol. Two other juveniles were also found with him and are in law enforcement custody.

UPDATE: Carson City teen runaway located Tuesday night

UPDATE WEDNESDAY: Based on tips from the public, the 13-year-old runaway juvenile was located late Tuesday evening in Carson City, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office detective.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division is asking the public’s assistance in locating a runaway juvenile female. Trinity Cole age 13, was last seen on June 8 in Carson City. Trinity is believed to still be in Carson City.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division is asking the public’s assistance in locating a runaway juvenile female. Goldie Consalvi, age 17, was last seen on May 1, 2019 in Carson City. Information received is that Goldie may be in Carson City or the Reno, Sparks area.

Satellite libraries updated at Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada

Abby Vawter, 6, was among the first in line to check out a new book when they were delivered by the Carson City Library to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada.

“Reading books is like my heart,” she said. “The more you read, the smarter you get. That’s what my teacher always told me.”

Her selection: “Bat Girl.”

“It was really amazing,” Abby said. “I like the way she saves the day.”

For the past few years, the youth room at the club had a satellite library with about 60-70 books to serve 300-400 kids.

California murder prompts Amber Alert for teen, suspects driving white BMW with Nevada plates

UPDATE: The Amber Alert issued Thursday morning was canceled Thursday evening for Nevada, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. Authorities said the suspect's cell phone was used near the Mexico border.

An Amber Alert was issued late Thursday morning for a California teenager after authorities learned she was last seen with her mother and a man who are suspects in a Los Angeles County murder investigation. The suspects are believed to be driving a vehicle with Nevada personalized license plates.

Pierre Hathaway passed away Sunday, March 17, 2019, at his home in Carson City, Nevada. Pierre had been receiving hospice care at his home where his wife of 24 years, Florence Phillips-Hathaway, had been caring for him following a 5-month illness.

Carson City e-cigarette vendor says new FDA rules are ineffective

Carson City – Effective August 10, ads and packaging for e-cigarettes and associated devices must include a warning that the products contain nicotine and that nicotine is addictive. Just like combustible tobacco products, new rules from the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) require the warning to occupy 20 percent of the ad or package space. According to FDA Administrator Scott Gottlieb, the new rules are intended to curb teen use, which he referred to as an, “epidemic.”

Runaway Carson City teen found safe in Reno

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division reports a 16-year-old runaway teen has been located in Reno and is safe.

Payton Higgins left her Carson City residence on College Parkway on the morning of Oct. 24, 2018. She was found safe and is now in the custody of Carson City Juvenile Detention as of Tuesday evening.

18 of 19 Carson City businesses pass Friday alcohol compliance check

On Friday, Oct. 26 the Carson City Sheriff’s Office conducted an alcohol compliance check. The teen decoys were sent into local businesses and they attempted to purchase alcohol using their real identification.
