We miss the stage, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make theater. Wild Horse Children’s Theater is looking for young actors, singers, and dancers, ages 10 and up for our new Virtual Broadway Workshop.

“We did our free clinic at the Community Center, and what a turnout we had; around 100 participants showed up, we had a ton of fun, and we even had high school varsity players help coach the clinic as well” said Carson High School Varsity Basketball coach Jordan Glover.

The 16th annual Jazz and Beyond Carson City Music Festival took over a sunny Friday evening in the state capital.

Our 14th annual “BOPS” concert, conducted by Maestro James Rawie, is a delightful summer event that we perform at Carson Valley United Methodist Church in Gardnerville on Sunday, July 7 at 4 p.m.

The Old West Trio returns to the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park this coming week in an evening concert, while two local musicians are featured at the park’s upcoming Neighbor Fair, an event highlighting Carson Valley’s non-profit organizations.

Mile High Jazz Band Association, in cooperation with Carson Middle School, presents a five-day Jazz Camp with sessions for middle- and high-school musicians, weekdays June 13-19, in the band room at Carson Middle School, 1140 W. King St., in Carson City.

Funnyman Adam Stone headlines this week’s Carson Comedy inside the Carson Nugget for those needing a good laugh. The Carson Area Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America will gather to honor those who have given their all and have yet to come home during a POW/MIA Recognition Ceremony at the Veterans Memorial on the Capitol Grounds.

Let's kick off the weekend with a street party, or two. The HopeFest Concert at the Carson Tahoe Medical Center is a family friendly celebration. A whirlwind of a weekend is on its way and you may as well get it off to an incredible start. Stop by Living the Good Life and celebrate their third anniversary with an outdoor concert featuring Soul Connection. Telegraph Square has a stage set up for the Taste of Downtown tomorrow, so the Carson High Class of ’77 is hosting a street party with Prey for Son tonight. All Carson Alums (along with everyone else) are encouraged to come say hello.

Have you ever wished you could clone yourself? If you haven’t, then these next few weekends will make you consider it: there are just too many options to choose from. Whether you prefer indoors, outdoors, adults-only, or family friendly, there is something to enjoy. The Stewart Fathers’ Day Pow Wow and the Carson City Off-Road are the big tickets in town this weekend, complete with some downtown road closures. This year's show ‘Legends Are Forever’ is going to be our biggest and most entertaining to date. Our theme is about legendary icons such as singers, composers, ballets, bands and children's favorites that have given us inspiration to dance.

"We have split our recital into 3 separate shows, hoping to give our audiences an enjoyable experience watching different levels of dancers perform excellent choreography with passion, technique and the Love of Dance,” said Joan Elias Forever Dance’s Artistic Director/Owner.

SILVER CITY - Bring a lawn chair and a picnic to the Comstock and enjoy a morning in the shaded Silver City park with a free acoustic blues concert by Mylo McCormick on Tuesday, June 6th from 10am to noon.

He’ll perform on the town’s new outdoor stage, the Silver Pavilion, located adjacent to the town community center, known as the School House, at 385 High Street.

Stick close to downtown and you'll be rewarded with World Dance at Comma Coffee, or some laughs with Comedian Milt Abel at Carson Comedy inside the Carson Nugget.

Have you ever had one of those weeks? Well, thank goodness it's Friday. Carson City will help you decompress and forget your troubles. Students, K-12 and University, will enjoy the free swim day at the Carson Hot Springs. The Carson Nugget is turning into quite the downtown hotspot with a different headlining comedian each Friday, in addition to live music in two places. Check out their newest offering, the Beer Bar, during tonight's grand opening. So much more awaits you today, you'll just have to see what strikes your fancy.

Irish eyes are smiling on us: it’s going to be a gorgeous day. You won’t have to look far for some green beer, whiskey, or corned beef – there will be St. Patrick’s Day parties all over. Live music is on the menu, as well. Choose from Men of Worth at the Brewery Arts Center, an all ages punk show at Sassafras, or Stereo Galaxy in the McFadden Plaza, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The brave ones will be at the St. Baldrick Fundraiser at Red’s Old 395 where you’ll see some heads shaved for a good cause. Where ever you end up, just make sure you have a plan to get home safely.

As the three-day Presidents' Day weekend begins, Carson City has much to offer. Carson Comedy does a double-dose tonight with Rick D’Elia at the Carson Nugget and Craig ‘The Lovemaster’ Shoemaker at the Brewery Arts Center. World Dance Open Floor at Comma Coffee is like an open mic for dancers. Travel the world with the annual International Film Weekend at the Community Center; it's free and also features local Independent films. Karaoke, live music, dancing and more round out tonight's options.
