A 30-year-old Carson City man on probation and not allowed to drink alcohol as a condition of his probation was arrested early Friday on felony suspicion of giving an officer a false name to avoid prosecution, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

An inmate at Carson City Jail and a suspect in a burglary case were each booked on gross misdemeanor charges of conspiracy to commit burglary after they allegedly plotted to burglarize a Menlo Drive residence, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Three men were arrested Monday on felony robbery and other charges after a victim was held at gunpoint and money demanded from him while parked in a lot at a South Carson Street motel, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

In custody are Shawn Felix, 26, Raymond Mann, 28, and Tarron Evans, 30, all are listed as transients and have had previous contacts with law enforcement in Carson City.

UPDATE: Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said Monday the murder investigation of Grant Watkins continues and there could be additional arrests.

"The investigation has well determined that a group of young men set out to rob Watkins of approximately 3 ounces of marijuana, and in the course of the event, Watkins was killed by gunfire along-side a neighborhood park," said Furlong. "In addition to the arrests, Detectives have executed search warrants at four residences and one rural environment, as well as the crime scene area. While the Sheriff’s Office believes that the core of the offenders has already been arrested, other arrests could come later as details of lateral involvement are made clear."

A 20-year-old Dayton man was arrested in connection with the Jan. 11 murder of a Carson City man during a late night drug deal that erupted in gunfire near a subdivision park, a Carson City sheriff’s lieutenant said.

Two Carson City residents were arrested Friday on multiple felony charges including maintaining a drug house and possessing marijuana and other drugs at their Park Street residence, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies were called Saturday night to Raley's in the 3700 block of South Carson Street for a robbery. The suspect pulled a 3 to 4 inch knife on store security at around 8:40 p.m. as they were leaving the store with merchandise, said Carson City Sheriff's Office Sgt. Scott McDaniel.

A fifth person tied to the Monday murder of an 18-year-old Carson City man was taken into custody Friday, Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said.

Late Friday afternoon, the Carson City Justice Court issued an arrest warrant for Jonathan Skenandore, 18, on the charges of accessory to murder, a category C felony, accessory to robbery, a category C felony, and conspiracy to commit robbery, a category B felony. He is the latest to be arrested in connection with the early morning fatal shooting of Grant Watkins near a park in north Carson City.

A Carson City man arrested last week on felony warrant charges and was considered a person of interest in a June 1 armed robbery of a woman in the driveway of her residence, has formally been charged with the crime, a Carson City sheriff’s lieutenant said.

Jac Owen, 24, was arrested June 11 at a Jumbo Way home on three unrelated outstanding felony warrants.
