Husband and wife Americana duo, Seth Brand, to perform at Red Dog Saloon April 19

Seth Brand is Asheville, North Carolina's No. 1 Americana Rock/Pop songwriter and has been performing his original, heartfelt and inspiring tunes at various establishments throughout the country as well as several radio shows.

With wife Sara at his side playing percussion, the Brands are currently touring the States for their Desert Mountain Tour.

The Carson City School District welcomes two new school board members: Lupe Ramirez, District 1, and Richard Varner, District 4. Ramirez and Varner were accompanied by Stacie Wilke-McCulloch, District 3, and Don Carine, District 6, at the Carson City Court House Monday, Jan. 7, as all four took their oaths of office and were sworn in as elected city officials.

Carson City POP Warner: Tiny Mite Blue having a great season

Now underway, Carson City Pop Warner Youth Football and Cheerleading is a non-profit organization run by volunteers. It is the oldest youth football and cheerleading program in Northern Nevada. Each season, Pop Warner provide tackle football and cheerleading activities to approximately 300 boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 14.

Carson City schools participate in 'Week of Respect' to help curb bullying

CARSON CITY — Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval has proclaimed Oct. 2-5, 2018 the “Week of Respect.” In tow with the proclamation, the Carson City School District’s superintendent has made a Pledge of Achievement to ensure consistent implementation of anti-bullying programs and practices in all schools and work environments.

Carson City Fire Department responding to reported brush fire behind residence on Banjo Court.

UPDATE: 10:50AM: Carson City firefighters on scene have investigated visible smoke behind a residence in the 3200 block of Banjo Court, and have determined the flames have been knocked down by area residents.
The burned area is estimated at about 60-by-20 feet in size. Fire crews are now mopping up the fire area.
NV Energy is also being dispatched to the scene. Firefighters on scene report trees in the area appear to be interfering with electrical lines.

Carson Valley sets eyes on Main Street Gardnerville Fall Fest

GARDNERVILLE, Nev. — It wouldn't be fall in the Carson Valley without the annual Scarecrow and Harvest Festival hosted by Main Street Gardens and East Fork Gallery. Or the Annual Slaughterhouse Lane Coffin and Stretcher Races.

This year Main Street Gardnerville has combined all these events into one big festival called Main Street Fall Fest, with more music, activities, demonstrations and vendors at Heritage Park on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
