The team is currently trying to raise fund to be able to travel to compete at the higher levels. There will be a fundraiser Monday, November 22nd at the Dairy Queen on Highway 50 East in Carson from 6 pm-9pm. Also monetary donations can be made. Checks should be payable to CCPW/Jr. Midget Football, P.O.

Carson City Arts Association presents Sahara Nights on Friday Night

The performance will be in the Bob Boldrick Theater at the Carson City Community Center. No charge but donations greatly appreciated at the door.

Fire investigation continues at site of Carson City blaze
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 03/29/2010 - 5:01pmCarson City fire investigators have not yet determined what started a fire late this morning that nearly destroyed a building that housed a mattress supply business and a hair salon.
The investigation shows the fire began at around 11:45 this morning on the east exterior of the building, said Carson City Fire Chief Stacey Giomi. The two businesses, Mattress King and High Desert Hair, won't be able to operate anytime soon, Giomi said.

According to witnesses near the business, there was some kind explosion.
"There was a loud pop and it caused an electrical shortage, a small blackout for a few seconds," said Shasta Mathews, who works at Dog Eared Books.
"This is upsetting considering that both of these stores are brand new to the area," she said.
