Good morning Carson City and happy November! It’s going to be a beautiful day with a high of 65 and a chilly low of 33. We’ve got a ton of wonderful events this morning in the capital city, so let’s get into it!

Saturday, November 2

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the second annual Evening with Divas in Carson City, a Día de Muertos celebration at the Nevada State Museum, Nevada Artists Association’s 40th anniversary celebration, paranormal ghost investigations in Virginia City, a pie baking contest in Gardnerville and much more!

Heading into the last day of October and you know what that means: Happy Halloween! Best to bundle up under the costumes as Thursday will be another chilly day, though warmer than Wednesday. Activities around the capital city include a Muscle Powered afternoon hike, art showings, library activities and more. Read on for Halloween activities around the capital city.

This Nevada Day, the GreenUP initiative made its debut in order to help Carson City get a little more green — especially along the parade route.

Heading into Tuesday, expect continued sunny skies and cool temperatures. Events for the day include a morning walk and evening hike with Muscle Powered, Fall job fairs hosted by Nevada JobConnect and the Carson Nugget, the 3rd annual "BOO-nanza" celebration at the Carson City Community Center and library, a Relay for Life fundraiser at Firehouse Subs and more.

Carson Demolition, Muscle Powered and the Desert Pigs crew from Lyon County made up an organized group of 28 volunteers who spent Sunday cleaning up Carson City after the Nevada Day festivities Saturday.

According to Muscle Powered's Donna Inversin, 15 bags of recyclables were collected before 11 a.m. with more being scooped up.

Good day Carson City, we hope you are enjoying your Nevada Day weekend. It is Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019. Events around the capital city area include a post Nevada Day Trash Mob cleanup, a morning bike ride, Pow Wow activities at the MAC, the RSVP carnival at Mills Park as well as as tours of the Wungnema House, also in the park, Thomas the Train activities Virginia City and more. It will be a much cooler day weather wise, so dress warm. Enjoy.

October 31 - Deadman's Creek Trail, Washoe Valley. Meet at SaveMart on N. Carson street along the south end of the building to carpool to the trailhead on East Lake Blvd, Washoe Valley.

October 29 - Silver Saddle Ranch to Mexican Dam. Meet outside the entrance to Silver Saddle Ranch in parking area just off of Carson River Road.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of events around the Carson City region Friday through Sunday to celebrate Nevada Day. Activities include the annual parade down Carson Street, a carnival at Mills Park, the 30th annual Nevada Day Classic, The La Ka Lel Be Pow Wow at the MAC, beard and rock drilling contests, delicious food dishes, pancakes, chili and plenty of beverages to suit kids and adults of all ages.

Counting down the hours until the Nevada Day weekend celebration begins, we're heading into Thursday, Oct. 24, 2019 with sunny skies in the forecast through Sunday. Thursday opens the first of the four-day annual RSVP Nevada Day Carnival at Mills Park with $1 ride family night hosted by Carson City Toyota. Other activities around the capital city include a Muscle Powered afternoon hike, art showings, library activities, a gold and silver rush presentation at the Nevada State Museum and more.

Hello Carson City! Are we excited for the parade yet? I know I am! We’re only a few days away now, so take a gander below to find the parade line up and parade categories.

Going into Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019 more sunny skies and warm fall temperatures will continue to shine on the capital city as we prepare for the Nevada Day weekend. Ahead Tuesday include a morning walk and evening hike with Muscle Powered, a "haunted" cemetery tour at Lone Mountain, a business networking meeting at Casino Fandango and the Fat Tuesday business networking group at Carson Nugget, archery at Centennial Park and more. Enjoy the day.

Sunday will bring cool temperatures and some sunshine with daytime highs in the mid 60s around the capital city region. Lined up today are fall train rides in Carson City and Virginia City, a women veteran's support group meeting, and a a discussion with survivors, family and doctors about metastatic breast cancer. Also today, the Carson City Symphony will open its 36th season at the community center. Enjoy.

Events include Harvest Train festivities at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, Thomas the Tank Engine and steam train rides in Virginia City, the first-ever Gandy Dance in Dayton, October Ghost Walk Tours through downtown Carson City and more!

Going into the final stretch of the work week Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019 will bring cool conditions, a slight chance of rain and some sunshine. Activities around the capital city include a meeting of the Board of Supervisors, a Muscle Powered hike at Silver Saddle Ranch, a rally at the legislative building, modern western square dancing lessons, art showings, library activities and more. Enjoy the day.

Heading into Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019, it will be a busy day ahead around the capital city including a Carson City Chamber of Commerce luncheon with Nevada's chief economist, a GOP Women's Club luncheon with Nevada State Senator James Settelmeyer, Sierra Lutheran will host its 7th and 8th Grade Visitation Day, plus a morning walk, evening hike with Muscle Powered, archery at Centennial Park, art night at the library and more.
