— A 34-year-old Carson City man identified as David Michael Wright was arrested Thursday evening on a felony third DUI and failure to maintain a lane after multiple people reported a drunk driver traveling on the freeway.

According to the callers, the vehicle was “all over the road” and had struck construction material while coming down from Spooner Summit.

With the weather reaching the mid-80s, now is the perfect time to get out and explore during a jam-packed three days around the Carson City region. Friday has plenty of events to get you to the weekend.

The next Carson City Board of Supervisors meeting will be held Thursday, June 6, beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Sierra Room of the Community Center, located at 851 E. William Street.

Heading into a jam-packed weekend of events around the Carson City region, there's a bevy of activities Friday to get your started. Lace up your shoes for a morning walk at Riverview Park, and then head on over to the Nevada State Museum for a coin press demonstration, and tours that explore anthropology and Nevada history. Later there's a cruise night gathering at Carson Mall to benefit Safe Grad Night, an Italian dinner fundraiser at the Governor's Mansion to benefit Carson City's homeless, live music at Living the Good Life and A to Zen, laughs at the Carson Comedy Club, and much more. A 40-year-old man was arrested Monday for alleged possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and two misdemeanors: possession of paraphernalia and being an ex-felon failing to register, a Carson City sheriff's report states.

A 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Monday morning for suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon, gross misdemeanor destruction of property, and misdemeanor domestic battery, a sheriff's deputy report said.

We want to send a big birthday "shoutout" to our outdoor editor emeritus Don Quilici, who turns 85 today. Don and his wife, Elaine, remain active, maintain healthy walks and hikes around the region and have plans for yet another Alaska outback trip this summer. Happy Birthday Q!

The lectures feature local life in days’ past and will be held at the Dayton Valley Community Center, 170 Pike St, Old Town Dayton, with light refreshments at 7 and the programs begin at 7:30 pm.
