Families and friends have been noticed to pay respect to these remarkable people.
The memorial is at 11 a.m. at the large dog park at Fuji Park. Lunch and libations with raffle prizes will be available from noon on at Democratic Headquarters 502 E John Carson City.
Nevada Artists Association's 64th 'Nevada Day' Art Show begins Oct. 27
Submitted by editor on Tue, 10/21/2014 - 10:52amThe 64th Nevada Day Art Show hosted by the Nevada Artists Association, is its biggest show of the year. This judged show will open on Monday, Oct. 27 and run through Friday, Jan. 2, 2015.
This exhibition was opened to all Nevada and Northern California artists and thus brings out the best and most recent works of the regions best painters, sculptors and photographers.
Awards are given for each media, Water color, oil, acrylic, pastel, photography and other, Best of show and Spirit of Nevada.
Run for your life! Redrun 2 comes to Virginia City Oct. 11

Six miles through some of the Comstock Lode's most haunted history, six obstacle complete with zombies and insanity, and six safe zones/ revive stations along the revised course will make this annual race even more ghoulish.
The race begins at 1pm, however you must check-in at least one hour prior.
The after party AKA Zombie Manifestival will begin at 5pm.
Nevada Artists Association 'Photography Show' at BAC through October, reception Saturday
Submitted by editor on Wed, 09/03/2014 - 4:07pmThe Nevada Artists Association presents its annual "Photography Show" now through Oct. 24. The show, at Carson City's Brewery Arts Center, is exhibiting the work of the regions best photographers and painters.
A reception will be held for the photographers, painters and artists Saturday Sept. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. The public is invited to view the exhibit, meet the artists and partake of libations and refreshments. Located at 499 West King Street, the NAA's BAC Gallery is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

No tricks this Halloween: Carson City celebrates Beggars' Night on Oct. 31

If you're a Carson City resident, the question as to when Beggar's Night falls on isn't a dumb one to wonder or ask since wrenches have been thrown into the mix every few years due to Nevada Day festivities.
Because Nevada Day sometimes falls on Oct. 31, there have been instances where the annual trick or treating ritual in Carson City has been moved up or down the calendar.
Carson City Street Vibrations changes gears to be more family friendly

North Lake Tahoe launches free ski shuttle
Submitted by editor on Mon, 01/07/2013 - 4:31amGetting to North Lake Tahoe’s snowy ski slopes just got a whole lot easier with the launch of the region's first area-wide free ski shuttle serving North Lake Tahoe, Truckee and Donner Summit.
The service runs between area lodging properties to 9 different ski resorts on weekends and holiday weeks now through March 31. It was formed through a collaboration of the North Lake Tahoe Chamber/CVB/Resort Association in partnership with the Truckee/North Tahoe Transportation Management Association and Placer County, the town of Truckee and several ski resorts.
