High school level lacrosse is now available to all Carson City area boys ages 14 to 17 through the Carson Lax Club. The final pre-season overview of the fast-approaching spring program will be presented Tuesday evening, Nov. 28, from 6 - 7 p.m. inside Bully's 3530 North Carson Street.

A unique sporting opportunity is on its way to Carson City! Designed to introduce boys and girls ages 6 to 14 to the popular sport of lacrosse, the one-day “TryLax” Clinic is open to kids from across the area, including Carson City, Dayton, Gardnerville/Minden, and Lake Tahoe.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region. The Nevada Day Golf Tournament in remembrance of Mayor Bob Crowell will be held at Silver Oak Ranch Golf Course on Saturday. Dozens of fundraisers, including the Benson’s Feed 4 Paws 4-H group, will be scattered throughout the Carson City and Gardnerville areas. Youth girls and boys lacrosse is coming to the Carson Valley! In partnership with both the High Sierra Lacrosse Foundation and the High Sierra Lacrosse League, Douglas Girls Lacrosse Club is hosting a free youth TryLax lacrosse clinic on Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 1:00 - 2:30PM at Lampe Park in Gardnerville.

Carson Capitols Lacrosse Club, a division of Carson Youth Programs, Inc., is proud to announce their upcoming season for boys and girls ages 12-8, which will begin formal training and practices in January 2021, with the season starting in March 2021.

Spacious and picturesque John L. Harvey Field in Carson City, nestled at the base of the Eastern Sierra, has provided a lot more than baseball entertainment to the community since being constructed in 2006.

The Carson High School Mock Trial team will meet professional attorneys and students around the state to compete Feb. 17 in Reno.

Sierra Nevada College Men’s Lacrosse Team won the Mens Collegiate Lacrosse Association’s WCLL Division II Tournament yesterday, defeating #2 seed UC Davis 18-3, which means they will play in the MCLA national championships for the second year in row, beginning Monday, May 9. Their first game will be at UC Irvine against North Dakota State at 11 am.

Senior Jack Witt was WCLL Tournament MVP and Defensive Player of the Year for the conference.

Miles Construction has been retained as general contractors for the 2.3-acre multi-purpose athletic field taking shape at Sierra Lutheran High School​ in Carson City.

The new field, a natural grass multipurpose venue capable of hosting football, soccer, lacrosse and the school’s physical education classes, provides a dedicated athletics facility for the school as well as an additional sports venue for the Douglas County and Carson City communities. Project completion is targeted for fall 2015.

Three Sacramento area women were arrested Saturday in two separate cases involving stolen credit cards, fraud and forgery. Carson City Sheriff’s Office investigators are trying to determine if the cases are related, said Lt. Brian Humphrey.

In the first arrest, officers recovered stolen credit cards, equipment to make credit cards, as well as stolen checks from victims in Douglas County and Sacramento, according to the arrest report.
