Carson library director to speak at Monday's Democratic luncheon

Speaking at the February 5th Democratic luncheon will be Carson City Library Director Joy Holt, who will provide an update on all of the library's many goings-on, as well as a run-down on some newly-acquired best sellers of special interest.

Joy's resume includes experience as a library aide, library assistant, academic student reference librarian, assistant library director, digital services librarian, assistant to the state librarian and deputy library director.

Education union spokesman featured at Democratic tele-luncheon

Featured speaker at Monday's Democratic tele-luncheon will be Alexander Marks, Communications Director for the Nevada State Education Association. A school union, the NSEA is the largest education association in the state of Nevada, and is an affiliate of the National Education Association. Using a PowerPoint, Alex will present background information and research reports on a variety of issues affecting education in Nevada.
