January job growth in Carson City grew by 2.2 percent over January 2019 figures, giving the capital city the distinction of having the fastest job growth for the month compared to Reno and Las Vegas, according to figures released Tuesday by the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation.

Carson City Library Director Dr. Tod Colegrove is the new president-elect of the Nevada Library Association (NLA), voted in at the turn of the year and assuming his new role as president in 2021.

Clark County Board of Commissioners and City Councils of Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Mesquite in Nevada will start one each of their meetings during May with ancient Hindu prayers, containing verses from world’s oldest extant scripture.

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed will deliver the invocations from ancient Sanskrit scriptures before these meetings. After Sanskrit delivery, he then will read the English interpretation of the prayers. Sanskrit is considered a sacred language in Hinduism and root language of Indo-European languages.
