There’s a rumor of snowfall for this weekend, but it’s not expected to be too heavy in the valley. Don’t quote me on that, though, I’ve been wrong before. Break a leg to the Douglas students performing in ‘Game of Tiaras’ this weekend; the show sounds hilarious, but be warned, it’s not for kids. For a family friendly outing, check out Story Time with Suzie at the Nevada Railroad Museum, or photos with the Easter Bunny at PetSmart.

10th Annual Silver State Vertical Drop Ski Competition Fundraiser

Individuals or teams of 3-5 compete to safely ski as much vertical feet as possible in a 4-hour time period—the team with the highest average vertical feet skied wins. There are individual prizes for males and females who finish in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, and a team prize for 1st place. In the past, these prizes have been donated to us from companies such as Moment Skis, Patagonia, and Smith Optics.

Study: Absent for 80 years, bears returning to Nevada’s Great Basin

The animals had been absent from these areas for more than 80 years.

The annual Holiday Craft Fair at Carson High features a plethora of handmade and locally crafted gifts for the loved ones on your shopping list. Take the plunge at the Carson Aquatic Center if you want to get a picture with Scuba Santa. Grab a coat, some friends, and your ID and head downtown for this month’s beer crawl. $15 gets you a glass and your first beer, from there you’ll pay only $1 for refills at several watering holes.
