Empty Bowls fills bellies, Carson Mall Friday night with hunger-fighting fundraiser

In its sixth year, the Empty Bowls fundraiser Friday Night drew huge crowds to the Carson Mall for a night of delicious soup, live music, a silent auction, and all around festive fun.

In its sixth year, Carson City has fought hunger during the holidays in a very unique way by serving delicious hot soups prepared by local restaurants that are dished up in ceramic bowls made by the hands of people in the community.

This Friday, the all-you-can-eat fundraiser returns, this time at the Carson Mall, with an array of holiday entertainment, an auction, raffle and more to go along with delicious, savory and soothing hot soup delights.

The event runs from 4 to 8 p.m. inside the Carson Mall's north entrance.

Thank goodness that there won’t be any school traffic on this very cold and icy morning. Presidents Day is a day off for the kids, so let them stay in their warm beds.
