CARSON CITY — The military support organization Work for Warriors Nevada is set to host a no-cost, virtual job fair on Wednesday, Jan. 20, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The fair will be online.

Nevada is one of four additional states to receive approval from the U.S. Department of Education for its career and technical education plan submitted under the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act.

Stimulus Program Information

The coronavirus relief bill passed March 27 by Congress provides payments to individuals who make less than $100,000 a year. The payment total $1,200 for each adult who makes $75,000 or less, plus $500 per child. The payment amounts decrease if you make between $75,000 and $99,000. The income is determined by your latest tax return filed with the IRS. It will use your 2019 taxes if you have filed them already, or your 2018 taxes if you haven't. Nevada exceeded all its mandated performance measures for the 2nd quarter of 2018 in efforts to hire and train dislocated adults and youth as part of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, according to a report released Monday by the state's Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation.

The Nevada JobConnect will hold a Job Fair for those looking for a job in the manufacturing industry on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Reno Town Mall at 4001 S. Virginia St., Reno.

As Nevada continues to recover from the recession, employers are steadily adding jobs to the economy, creating more opportunities for jobseekers, said Renee Olson, administrator for Nevada’s Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation’s Employment Security Division, which oversees Nevada JobConnect.

Nevada Staffing will host a veterans job fair at the Nevada Job Connect office Tuesday, from 10am to noon. The Office is located at 1929 N Carson St, Carson City.

Nevada Staffing, a Veteran owned, locally owned, staffing company is hosting a veterans support meeting and registration. Our goal is to get all veterans good jobs and to help with directing them to training programs and resume services.

At least 28 employers will be at a job fair featured at the Carson City Senior Center today, Friday, Feb. 22. The event runs from 2 to 4 p.m. in the dining area and is open to the public, said Lynn Ellis, WorkForce Case Manager for Carson City Health and Human Services. The event is sponosored by Carson City Health and Human Services, JOIN and Job Connect.
