Dead Winter Carpenters rock Levitt AMP Carson City outdoor Music Series

The Dead Winter Carpenters brought a bluegrass and country flair to the fourth annual Levitt AMP outdoor Music Series on Saturday.

Attendees by the hundreds filled the Change Companies Stage on Minnesota Street at the Brewery Arts Center to soak in another warm summer night with a pair of terrific live performances.

The 16th annual Jazz and Beyond Carson City Music Festival took over a sunny Friday evening in the state capital.

A blend of smooth jazz music combined with special art exhibits, demonstrations and art sales brought dozens of attendees to the Bliss and Governor's Mansions.

Youth Theatre Carson City to hold workshop, auditions for 'Shrek: The Musical, Jr.'

Youth Theatre Carson City is thrilled to announce auditions for "Shrek: The Musical, Jr." The show will run eight performances, January 17-26, 2020 in the Bob Boldrick Theatre at the Carson City Community Center. We are looking for actors, singers, and dancers grades K-12, who will be cast to play a host of colorful fractured fairytale characters!

Sierra Lutheran grad earns high honors, to represent Concordia University in Atlanta

Casteel, a 2018 graduate from Sierra Lutheran High School and a rising sophomore at Concordia University, Irvine used her first year in college to quickly grab ahold of the fast-climbing elevator to the executive suite for college students studying business.

Traditional Peruvian music featured on the Comstock this Saturday

The historic Comstock town of Silver City, Nev. will host another free, family-friendly public event on Saturday August 3. Kantu Inka will perform on the town’s outdoor stage, the Silver Pavilion, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Kantu Inka is a duo including Carlos Ocampo and Julie Lozada Ocampo. They bring Peruvian culture alive with dance and traditional instruments such as zampoñas, quenas, charangos, bombos, chacchas, and cajón.

For summer’s most visible meteor showers, join the Carson City Parks, Rec and Open Space Department at Western Nevada College’s Jack C. Davis Observatory for some late night, educational fun. No pre-registration necessary. Please wear close-toed shoes and bring water for night hiking from the Observatory. Head lamps and flashlights are allowed.
