The Brewery Arts Center, Carson City’s premiere epicenter for the arts since 1976, continues their 40-year partnership with Proscenium Players, Inc. as they present "A Christmas Chaos."

Pinkerton Ballet Theatre presents the 30th anniversary of The Nutcracker Ballet featuring a live orchestra in Carson City this Thanksgiving weekend.

Performances are Friday and Saturday, Nov. 23-24, 2018 at 7 p.m., and a matinee on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center, Bob Boldrick Theater.

With Thanksgiving a week away, the early registration deadline for the annual Carson City Turkey Trot arrives this Thursday, Nov. 15.

The Carson City Turkey Trot is an event the entire family will enjoy. Hosted by St. Teresa Catholic School, the fitness event offers an 8K (5-mile) run, 5K (3.1 miles) run/walk, and the Gobble Wobble Kids Fun Run.

In honor of its 20th anniversary year, Lebowskifest will be held at Wink's Silver Strike Lanes in the Ranchos, located at 1281 Kimmerling Road, on Nov. 10 from 7 pm - 10 pm.

If you thought Dia de los Muertos was synonymous with Halloween, you'd be wrong.

Although All Hallows Eve occurs during the typically days-long festival, Dia de los Muertos is really a celebration of life for loved ones and ancestors that have passed on.

Friday night’s Blinky Man ride around Carson City had the largest crowd of riders, with participants decked out in wild costumes, bicycles covered in fur and lights, and of course, beer.

Today is the observed state holiday, where businesses are open but state and local government offices and schools are closed. Meanwhile, the capital city itself is getting warmed up for a three-day weekend and famed parade that celebrates statehood.

Carson City Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit asked Facebook followers who or what K-9 Officer Tarzan should be for Halloween this year. Staff tallied up the suggestions and the results are in.

Nevada's celebration of statehood provides for a bevy of activities that showcase the Silver State's best. Carson City’s history will come alive this weekend during the annual Ghost Walk on the city’s west side.

“The Ghost Walk is a delightfully entertaining and enjoyable way to experience Carson City’s Victorian Era and diverse history,” said Director Mary Bennett.

Get ready for Carson City’s spookiest historical event of the fall season: the 26th season of the Carson City Ghost Walk, led by Madame Curry.

Though technically Madame Curry is a fictitious historical character, the annual ghost walk is full of interesting information about the historical homes and people around our capital — with a little extra supernatural spook thrown in.

Calvary Chapel Carson Valley's Harvest Festival will take place on Oct. 31, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. It is a warm and safe alternative to Halloween located at the Douglas County Fairgrounds on Pinenut Road.

Admission is a suggested donation of two unopened bags of candy per family. Free food, drinks, games, lots of candy, cookie decorating, a cake walk, entertainment and more will be available. Non-frightening costumes are encouraged. For more information, call Calvary Chapel at 265-3259.

The 29th annual World Championship Outhouse Races in Virginia City returns Oct. 6-7. In a classic example of the quirkiness that is Virginia City, the much beloved Outhouse Races abounds with potty humor, crazy costumes, and lightening fast trussed up receptacles down the main drag.

A long line of Native American dancers dressed in ceremonial costumes honored the sacred circle of the parade grounds Friday evening to open the annual Stewart Indian School Father's Day Pow Wow, a tradition that dates back more than a quarter century.

This is going to be an epic Fathers’ Day weekend. Carson City Off-Road sponsored by Epic Rides has taken over downtown with everything mountain bike and plays host to a free Music Festival in McFadden Plaza. Don’t miss Arts and Culture Day at the Nevada State Railroad Museum with unlimited rides on the Steam Train, special vendors, and more.
