Nutcracker Ballet celebrates 30 years with Thanksgiving weekend Carson City performances

Pinkerton Ballet Theatre presents the 30th anniversary of The Nutcracker Ballet featuring a live orchestra in Carson City this Thanksgiving weekend.

Performances are Friday and Saturday, Nov. 23-24, 2018 at 7 p.m., and a matinee on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center, Bob Boldrick Theater.

Carson City Turkey Trot early registration deadline is Thursday

With Thanksgiving a week away, the early registration deadline for the annual Carson City Turkey Trot arrives this Thursday, Nov. 15.

The Carson City Turkey Trot is an event the entire family will enjoy. Hosted by St. Teresa Catholic School, the fitness event offers an 8K (5-mile) run, 5K (3.1 miles) run/walk, and the Gobble Wobble Kids Fun Run.

Lebowskifest returns to Gardnerville Nov. 10 with bowling, costumes, and of course, white Russians

The 1998 Coen Brother's movie, the Big Lebowski, has long had a cult following. It is one of the most quoted movies of all time, and there is even a new religion dedicated to it, fittingly called, Dudeism.

In honor of its 20th anniversary year, Lebowskifest will be held at Wink's Silver Strike Lanes in the Ranchos, located at 1281 Kimmerling Road, on Nov. 10 from 7 pm - 10 pm.

Calvary Chapel Carson Valley's annual Harvest Festival set for Halloween evening

Calvary Chapel Carson Valley's Harvest Festival will take place on Oct. 31, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. It is a warm and safe alternative to Halloween located at the Douglas County Fairgrounds on Pinenut Road.
