Carson Valley Medical Center Great Outdoors Health Fair Oct. 20
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Mon, 10/08/2018 - 4:35pmCarson Valley Medical Center has moved its annual community health fair to the middle of autumn, with this year’s event scheduled to take place Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to noon on its main campus, 1107 Highway 395 N in Gardnerville.
Free flu vaccinations will be offered during this year’s fair, along with a variety of free health screenings including glucose testing, peripheral artery disease screenings (Ankle-Brachial Index), blood pressure checks, Body Mass Index readings and more.
Nevada Rural Community Partners hosts third annual Carson City Trunk n' Treat

Children, families and the entire community are invited to the free event, and are encouraged to participate by decorating vehicles and joining in on the fun for a minimal entry fee of $10. Trophies are awarded for the best decorated vehicle, and goodie bags are provided to the little ghosts and goblins

Tesla announces $1.5 million in education grants for STEM students

Home to many iconic species found in the West, the sagebrush ecosystems in the United States have contracted to about 56 percent of their historical range due to land degradation, especially from wildfire and invasive species propagation.
