Now, when I say bicycle invasion, I’m not exaggerating. The Carson City Off-Road hosted by Epic Rides brings mountain bike enthusiasts from all over to compete in our hills. You’ll find downtown road-closures to make way for the race routes, a bike expo, beer garden, and a music festival on Saturday. Douglas County, March 14, 2018 - Captain Joe Duffy, Candidate for Sheriff of Douglas County, will be participating in the 2018 Polar Plunge - Thrill of the Chill - to benefit the Special Olympics of Northern California and Nevada.

The goal of this year’s event is to raise $146,000 “to help more than 24,000 children and adults with developmental disabilities succeed through sports.” Duffy will be participating alongside his wife and friends.

Duffy has a history of participating in athletic events for charity. He has also run for the Special Olympics Torch Run.
