This will be a hands on class where students are encouraged to bring a camera or cell phone and a sample of their work to photograph.

The first hour or so we will discuss F-stops, shutter speed, light sources, white balance and operations of several different cameras. The next 30 minutes will cover how to set up a small portable studio on a kitchen table, in a garage or other suitable workplace.

Dayton High School Spring sports registration for baseball, softball, field and track, boys golf has begun. Registrations must be complete on Register My Athlete by 3 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14. Current fall and winter athletes must register as well for a spring sport if they are participating.

A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday morning for suspicion of giving marijuana to a person under 18-years-old, a gross misdemeanor, driving with suspended registration, driving with no insurance, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. After being arrested, he was later booked for statutory sexual seduction, a gross misdemeanor.
