Afternoon highs will climb to near 100 across much of western Nevada valleys with highs of 85-95 in the Sierra.

Submitted by Jeff Munson on Thu, 06/23/2016 - 12:14pmIt will be dry and breezy today with Red Flag Warnings in effect for much of western Nevada including Carson City. Firefighters around the region are keeping a watchful eye on conditions and have already made smoke investigations checks in area.
A small, smoldering campfire was discovered by firefighters at around noon doing a smoke investigation north of Carson City, according to dispatch. A small brush fire was reported at around 11:30 a.m. in the Silver Springs area, according to the Central Lyon County Fire District.

For Carson City, Carson Valley and Dayton areas, overnight lows will be in the low to mid-30s with a 50 percent chance of scattered rain and snow showers, according to the weather service.
