Hosted by Epic Rides, Carson City Off-Road races weren’t the only venues that kicked-off a jam-packed weekend in the state capital’s downtown on Saturday.

Several booths, food, and refreshments joined a pair of live performances to bring even more heat to a warm summer day in Carson City.

Good morning Carson City, and happy Saturday! It'll be a bit warmer than yesterday with a high of 86 and a low of 51, and you can expect a bit of a breeze with 13 mph winds.

There's a lot going on today in our beautiful Capital City, with day two of Epic Rides, the Carson City Airport Open House and Wing Cook-off, the farmer's market, a youth expo, and more.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City area to help the next three days breeze by. There's a morning Muscle Powered walk, plus the Nevada State Museum will host 2 behind the scenes tours in natural history and anthropology. Plus, the fourth annual Carson City Off-Road kicks off its three-day event with a Capital 15 Fun Ride and Free Clunker Crit Ride. Heading into the evening, “Newsies” will take stage at the Carson City Community Center and you can sit under the stars and watch “The Little Rascals” at 8 p.m. during movie night at John Mankins Park.

In this edition of It's Your City, host Cortney Bloomer sits down with Carol Scott of Wild Horse Children's Theater as it prepares to launch production of the Tony Award winning Broadway hit "Newsies" in the Bob Boldrick Theater at the Carson City Community Center.

The Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series presented by The Change Companies began with a full house last week and the party will continue this Saturday, June 29 at the Brewery Arts Center with reggae sensation Jordan T. So grab your family, friends and neighbors and get ready to experience the power of free, live music to bring our community together.

Heading into today, there's the 2019 Great Race at Lampe Park in Gardnerville, an open house at the Foreman-Roberts House Museum in Carson City and the Brewery Arts Center will be packed once again Sunday for the Summer Showcase Band Concert from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Capital City Brewfest was quite the refreshing venue on Saturday in downtown Carson City.

Nearly two dozen breweries lined the newly redesigned Curry Street, which helped hundreds of attendees cool down from the summer heat.

Thousands will pack Carson City venues during the Capital City Brewfest and Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series on Saturday, June 22.

Heading into the weekend, there's a bevy of events around the Carson City region that brings a cool breeze to the first three days of summer. The 16th Motor Officer Challenge kicks off Friday at 7 a.m. at Mills Park. Lace up the shoes for a Friday morning walk at East Silver Saddle Ranch hosted by Muscle Powered.

The Canyon White Band will be at Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint for Sassafras Live Music & Events on June 29th, 2019.

Come on down for fabulous food and fun!

The Capital City Community Band and the Mile High Jazz Band Association, in cooperation with Carson Middle School, will present a free Summer Showcase Band Concert on Sunday, June 23, 2019, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Brewery Arts Center’s outdoor stage at Minnesota and King streets in Carson City, the same stage used for the Levitt Amp concerts. Some seating is available, and the public is invited to bring chairs.

Pop music superstar Justin Timberlake just amped up the celebrity wattage at the American Century Championship, expanding the field of luminaries for the 30th annual golf tournament at Lake Tahoe, July 9-14.

Come join us for a weekend of fun! Award winning journalist and comedian Maureen Langan will be headlining the Carson Comedy Club this Friday and Saturday, June 21-22 in Carson City.

Indie pop band The Belle Sounds will headline this year’s Capital City Brewfest. The annual event takes place Saturday, June 22, from 3 to 8 p.m. along Curry Street in Downtown Carson City. The band will perform beginning at 5 p.m. on the stage in McFadden Plaza.

Heading into Father’s Day weekend, there's plenty of jam-packed activities around the Carson City region. There's Flag Day ceremonies at the Nevada Veterans Memorial and at the Elks Lodge. The Stewart Father’s Day Powwow happens Friday to Sunday and features hundreds of American Indian dancers, drummers artists and cultural enthusiasts. Lace up the tennis shoes for the Eastside Historical tour of the capital city hosted by Muscle Powered. Journey of Hope returns to Western Nevada College at 5 p.m. to settle into the evening. Open Mic Night at A to Zen will cap-off an eventful Friday heading into the weekend.

Please join us this weekend June 14-15 for a weekend of fun at the Carson Nugget located at 507 N Carson St in Carson City.

We have comedian Travis Tate headlining the Carson Comedy Club Friday & Saturday. The doors open up at 7:15 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 each and available at the Winners Club inside the Carson Nugget or at www.ccnugget.com.

Following the show, we have Northern Nevada funk band, Soul Kiss, performing at The Loft inside the Carson Nugget. The party starts at 9 p.m.

The quintessential street band will play the Biggest Little Street Party in the World.

Stacey Giomi is a long-time Carson City resident, and the newest member on the Board of Supervisors after being voted into the vacancy left by Karen Abowd. Giomi spent 30 plus years as a firefighter for our community before retiring as Fire Chief. During this series of Five Questions, Giomi discusses his time as fire chief, issues facing Carson City, and what he plans to accomplish during his time on the Board of Supervisors.

With the weather reaching the mid-80s, now is the perfect time to get out and explore during a jam-packed three days around the Carson City region. Friday has plenty of events to get you to the weekend.

Hello Carson City as we head into Thursday, June 6, 2019. Activities, art and entertainment abound as we get closer to the weekend. There's the kickoff of two main events, the Nevada State Fair at Mills Park and the Spring Street Vibrations at Battle Born Harley-Davidson. A free Spring concert performed by The Capital City Community Band under the direction of Nick Jacques with Richard Doede, director Emeritus, got underway Sunday afternoon at the amphitheater in the Legislative Mall on Carson Street in Carson City.

Anticipation of graduation and trepidation about the future are the thoughts running through the veins of the Carson High School Class of 2019 as they contemplate walking onto the football field as high school seniors and bouncing off the football field as CHS graduates looking forward to the new places and faces of tomorrow.
