Come see these 1st Place Category Winners and all the other winners at the Reception and Awards Presentation for the Nevada Artists Association's “Spirit of America Show.” This event will be Sunday, June 25 from 2-4pm at the Gallery, 449 W. King Street in Carson City.

The Spring has Sprung Show is on display until May 5 with 112 entries from Northern Nevada Artists. The Featured Artists also on display are Roxane Gleghorn with inspiring pieces of resin art embellished with gemstones and crystals and Kristy Dial with her award winning gourd creations. All three shows are open to the public from 12-4pm Tuesday through Sunday at the NAA Gallery at 449 W. King Street in Carson City.

There will be an Artists Reception for the NAA Judged Winter Show on Sunday, February 19 from 2-4pm.

Everyone is welcome to come and meet the artists, view the beautiful show and enjoy some light refreshments.

Join us and celebrate spring and the powerful works by Martin A. David and Shaun T. Griffin. Martin shares his "Evolutions" retrospective spanning the 1960's through today, with 98 pieces of his life's work. Shaun's "Border Stories" focus on borders, and the impact on migrants and society.

Our artisan gallery is also filled with stunning works from beaded Native American moccasins and drums to silk scarves, jewelry, poetry books, and more.

Admission is complimentary, light refreshments will be served.

Carson City officials are continuously monitoring the level of risk of COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) to the community. In close coordination with Carson City Health and Human Services, the City Manager’s Office along with City departments in an abundance of caution are coordinating the closure of some offices to take additional measures to slow the spread of respiratory viruses. Hold onto your hat, Carson City, we’re in for one heck of a weekend. It’ll be cowboy hats and pioneer bonnets in Genoa for Western Heritage Day. Keep an eye out for Mark Twain, plenty of music, and fun for all. Leis are the preferred accessory for Lei Day at the Nevada State Museum where you’ll be treated to Polynesian surprises and free admission. Carson’s young artistic talent was on full display Saturday as the annual Northern Nevada Children’s Art Reception returned to the Artsy Fartsy Creative Center in downtown Carson City.

The weekend has arrived, and it will be an exceptionally long one for the schoolkids of Carson City: spring break begins Monday. There’s a rumor of snowfall for this weekend, but it’s not expected to be too heavy in the valley. Don’t quote me on that, though, I’ve been wrong before. Break a leg to the Douglas students performing in ‘Game of Tiaras’ this weekend; the show sounds hilarious, but be warned, it’s not for kids. For a family friendly outing, check out Story Time with Suzie at the Nevada Railroad Museum, or photos with the Easter Bunny at PetSmart.

Mountain Picassos — Basque Arborglyphs of the Great Basin explores the unexpected intersection of art, culture, and nature.

It's that time of year again when we showcase the young artistic talent in our Carson City area community. Artsy Fartsy Gallery presents the Northern Nevada Children's Art Reception.

Leaves turning, wind blowing, and all things pumpkin sprouting up everywhere. It is absolutely autumn in Northern Nevada. Get ready for Halloween with your choice of pumpkin patches. Seeliger Elementary School is hosting theirs for the twenty-fifth year in a row. Take a trip on the V and T Steam Train at the Nevada Railroad Museum, actually take several trips. The annual Harvest Train event offers an all-day wristband that allows for as many rides as you’d like, in addition to museum admission. So many more fun activities are available to you, you’ll have to read on to see them all.

Join us as we celebrate the stunning collection of work by regional artists and visiting artists.

Carol Brown debuts her intriguing "Ossified" body of work in our Post Gallery. Will Barber shares his dramatic and vivid photography in our Meinecke, Van Bokkelen and Arts Nevada Galleries. Chris England captures the wild beauty of a particular band of wild horses in our Manogue Gallery. Sophie Scott of New Zealand shares her unique body of work in our 4th floor galleries.

August 26th St. Mary's Art Center will host our Summer Art Reception, featuring beautiful works by amazing artists and artisans. Sandy Imperatori, Anne Leong, Sharon Leong, Dayton High School Scholastic Art Award Winners, Mimi Patrick, Casey Clark, Grey Wolf Leather Works, Cosmic Copper, Bonnie Kennedy, Malissa Sparks, Anna Smith and Pura Vida Sierras Art.

Join Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery, LLC while we celebrate the prolific styles of local artist Patricia Leonard. August 17th from 4-7 PM, drop by and meet the artist and she her amazing works in person. Light refreshments and wine will be served during the reception.

Hundreds of American Indian dancers, drummers, artists, craftsmen and cultural enthusiasts will converge on Carson City this Friday through Sunday for the annual Stewart Father’s Day Powwow.

It’s the first Wednesday which means that Comma Coffee is hosting an art reception for their Backseat Gallery. Don’t miss the exhibit by Su Limbert in the Legislative Gallery, the session is over and the exhibit closes at the end of the week. While you’re downtown head over to the BRIC building on Proctor for the BRIC Art 5 exhibit. By the Nevada State Museum you’ll find the Nevada Arts Council: their gallery is exhibiting Pasha Rashat.
