Convicted sex offender dies Tuesday at Carson City prison medical facility
A Northern Nevada Correctional Center inmate sentenced to life in prison for sex offenses died Tuesday at the prison's regional medical facility in Carson City, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.
Inmate Callisha Lakota, 62, was an Elko County commit serving 60 months to life for sexual assault, 60 months to life for victim over 65 enhancement, 80 months to 20 years for attempted sexual assault, and 40 months to 10 years for embezzlement.
Lakota arrived at the NDOC in July 1988. The Carson City Sheriff’s Office coroner responded. An autopsy will be scheduled. NDOC has been unable to locate any next of kin. Anyone with contact information for family of Inmate Callisha Lakota is asked to contact NDOC at 775-887-3309.
