Carson City deputies make arrests for suspect DUI, meth possession
A 40-year-old Santa Fe, New Mexico woman was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of DUI second offense and open container, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
At 4:02 p.m. deputies were called to the area of Carson Street and William Street for a report of a DUI driver who was reportedly all over the road, nearly hitting other vehicles and the driver looking as though she was nodding off.
Deputies were given a description and located the suspect vehicle southbound on Carson Street from Winnie Lane.
The driver initially failed to yield to a patrol vehicle, coming to red light and was forced into a traffic stop with another patrol vehicle.
The woman was asked to put her vehicle in park, and had to be asked multiple times. She was asked if she saw emergency vehicles and why she failed to stop. She replied she didn't know why she was being stopped, the report states.
While talking to the woman, a deputy could smell and odor of alcohol coming from her breath and that when she spoke, she had slurred speech. She became uncooperative and verbally aggressive, the report states.
She refused standardized field sobriety tests and a preliminary breath test. She was arrested for suspicion of DUI. She refused evidentiary testing and a warrant was applied for and obtain for blood evidence. Bail: $1,299.
