Nevada Department of Public Safety, Capitol Police Division, Partners with Toys For Tots
Carson City, Nev. - The Nevada Department of Public Safety (DPS) Capitol Police Division partnered with Toys For Tots for the annual toy donation event held at the Capitol.
Toys collected from state-agency sponsored locations and a check from the Nevada State Law Enforcement Officers' Association (NSLEOA) were presented to the Carson City Toys For Tots organization, Santa Claus, and the U.S. Marine Corp on Thursday, December 13.
The toys will be distributed through the organization to children in the community.
“The officers with the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Capitol Police enjoy being a part of the Carson City Toys For Tots event and appreciate the generous donations from our citizens and state employees to benefit such an important cause," remarked Capitol Police Chief Dale Liebherr.
"Toys for Tots is extremely grateful to the Capitol Police and NSLEOA for the wonderful partnership over the years,' said Carson City Toys for Tots Executive Director Joyce Buckingham, "Toys for Tots serves between 2,000 to 2,500 children in the Carson, Douglas, Lyon and Storey counties. We are proud our community partners work together to make Christmas possible for so many children in-need."
