Carson City emergency crews respond to crash involving pedestrian on East College Parkway
UPDATE 8PM: Roadways have begun to open up following the crash investigation involving a pedestrian and motorist that happened early Tuesday evening. According to Carson City Sheriff's Office Sgt. Matt Smith, the adult female victim was flown by CareFlight to Renown Medical Center in Reno where she is being treated for injuries. Her condition is unknown at this time.
The crash happened in a crosswalk where the victim was crossing west to east and was struck by a vehicle. The driver is an adult and impairment is not suspected, said Sgt. Smith.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called early Tuesday evening to a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian near the intersection of East College Parkway and Sherman Lane.
At 5:18 p.m. dispatch received multiple 911 calls regarding the incident involving a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle and unconscious. CPR was administered at the scene and Care Flight was ordered and flew the victim to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center in Reno.
Traffic on East College Parkway and Nye was closed as was northbound College Parkway from Highway 50.
Motorists are advised to find alternative routes.
Carson City Sheriff's Office informed dispatch that the area around the crash scene was to be closed for an extended period of time.
