Carson City Library's all-ages Winter Reading Challenge begins Saturday
As the temperature drops, the Carson City Library is gearing up for a season of warmth, imagination and literary adventure with its annual Winter Reading Challenge with this year’s theme, "Warm Up to Winter."
This event, running from Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023, to Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, invites readers of all ages to embrace the joy of reading and enjoy the festive season.
Join the library Saturday, Dec. 16 from 12 to 4 p.m. with fun, games and festivities to officially kick off the Winter Reading Challenge. It's an opportunity to meet fellow book enthusiasts, learn more about the challenge and immerse oneself in the literary spirit.
The Winter Reading Challenge is open to all ages, children to adults, making it a fantastic opportunity to come together and celebrate the magic of the written word. Participants can register and log their reading minutes through Beanstack, a user-friendly online platform that enhances the reading experience and is available through the library’s digital resources. All users must have a library card to access the online platform and cards are free.
As an incentive to read more attendees can earn raffle tickets by logging minutes read and attending programs throughout the event period. Raffle prizes are awarded Saturday, Jan. 13, during the end-of-event party at the Carson City Library from 12 to 4 p.m.
