Carson City sheriff bookings: Two jailed for DUI, four arrested for outstanding warrants
A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Tuesday morning for suspicion of DUI and other charges, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
The man was taken into custody in the area of Stewart and David streets at 1:06 a.m. He also faces charges of failure to maintain a lane of travel, driving without a driver’s license, being a minor consuming alcohol and open container.
According to the arrest report, a deputy observed a Jeep driving in the middle of the road for a tenth of a mile southbound on North Roop Street. The officer stopped the vehicle and observed a six pack of empty opened Corona beers in the backseat.
The officer made contact with the driver who identified himself with a Nevada ID card. He showed signs of intoxication and admitted to the deputy that he had been drinking alcohol. He showed signs of impairment with field sobriety tests and provided a preliminary breath test of .085. He was arrested and taken to jail where he blew evidentiary breath tests with results of .085 and .074. Bail: $1,758.
In other arrests:
— A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 1:46 a.m. in the 300 block of East William Street for suspicion of DUI. According to the arrest report, officers made a traffic stop and could smell a mild odor of alcohol from the driver. The man told the officer he had consumed three beers in three hours. He voluntarily submitted to field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on two of the six tests. At jail he provided evidentiary blood samples. Bail: $1,137.
— A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 10:54 p.m. in the area of Musser and Carson Meadows for misdemeanor suspicion of being a drunken pedestrian and for not having required lights for bicycle. According to the arrest report, the officer observed the man riding on a bike without lights swerving in the middle of the road. The man was uncooperative with officers when they attempted to get a preliminary breath test. Bail: $159.
— A 47-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday, 10:40 a.m. in the 300 block of West 9th Street for a misdemeanor petit larceny warrant issued out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $250.
— A 65-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday, 10:47 a.m. in the area of Roop and Basque streets for a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued June 29, 2016 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $840.
— A 27-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Monday, 3:36 p.m. for a misdemeanor domestic battery warrant issued Aug. 30, 2016 out of Dayton Township Court. Bail: $2,500.
— A 29-year-old Dayton man was booked into jail Monday, 4:20 p.m. on two misdemeanor contempt of court warrants issued Nov. 1, 2016 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $4,000.
