Two Carson City women booked for puncturing vehicle tire of ex-boyfriend
Two women were booked Tuesday for misdemeanor malicious destruction of property for their involvement in puncturing a tire on an SUV that belonged to an ex-boyfriend of one of the women, a sheriff's deputy said.
According to the arrest report, the victim met with a Carson City sheriff's deputy and said while he was at a casino on Nov. 22, he observed the two women — one of them being an ex-girlfriend whom he has a protection order against — at the casino in the 1800 block of North Edmonds.
He said he left the casino and noticed the right rear tire on his SUV was flat by the time he arrived home. He said he believed his ex-girlfriend was the person who flattened his tire.
He was asked if he saw his ex-girlfriend or the other woman puncture his tire. He said he did not. A deputy went to the casino and requested to see video surveillance of the casino’s south parking lot.
On Nov. 28 the deputy was able to view the video that showed the ex-girlfriend, 32, and another woman who was wearing a cowboy hat, 31, park near the victim’s vehicle. While the ex-girlfriend was standing near the vehicle, the woman in the cowboy hat walked over to the victim’s vehicle with a long knife and punctured the right rear tire while the ex-girlfriend watched.
Both women were contacted while they were in jail on unrelated matters and were read their Miranda warning. The woman who had worn the cowboy hat initially denied her involvement and then confessed to puncturing the tire after being told there was video of her doing it. The ex-girlfriend was also charged with malicious destruction of property for her involvement as principal party in the crime. Bail: $622 each.
