Carson City emergency crews called to crash at Spooner junction at Highway 50 and 395
UPDATE 4:38PM: Two people were injured in the Monday afternoon crash at Spooner Junction, with one person flown by Care Flight and the other taken by ground ambulance to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol responded late Monday afternoon to a vehicle accident in the area of Spooner Junction, Highway 50 and Highway 395, South Carson Street.
The accident was called into dispatch at around 4:10 p.m. in the westbound lane and involves two vehicles with moderate damage, according to arriving first responders. At least one person suffered serious injuries and a medical helicopter was ordered.
Extrication from one of the vehicles is underway with one person trapped, according to first responders on scene. The landing zone for Care Flight will be in the area of the park and ride.
Traffic is being diverted around the crash. Two traffics lanes from South Carson Street have been temporarily shut down. Motorists can expect delays.
