Carson City Classic Cinema Club featured on this week's It's Your City
In this edition of It's Your City, host Cortney Bloomer sits down with Rhonda Abend, founder of the Carson City Classic Cinema Club, which not only brings time treasured films to Carson City, but its core mission is to raise money for local children involved in the arts.
The club shows films the first Tuesdays of the month at the Brewery Arts Center. The films are classics that are in the public domain and, as of this year, has shown licensed classic films such as "Casablanca" "Rear Window" and the "African Queen." This Tuesday, Dec. 4, the Carson City Classic Cinema Club presents "All Mine to Give" starring Cameron Mitchel and Glynis Johns. The film, based on a true story, is a portrait of an immigrant family on the Wisconsin frontier, circa 1865, where a young son must find homes for his siblings after the deaths of his parents. General Admission $5; Senior/Student $3; Free to members. Trivia and discussion begin at 6:30 p.m. and the film begins at 7 p.m.
