Funeral service Monday in Carson City for teen who died in Kings Canyon crash
A celebration of life funeral service for Timothy Jones will be Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, 11 a.m. in Carson City at Calvary Chapel church, 1635 Clearview Drive.
Timothy, 16, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017 from injuries following a Nov. 9, 2017 vehicle accident on Kings Canyon Road. The accident injured six other teenagers. Two remain in serious condition, according to Nevada Highway Patrol.
On Monday, Carson City School District Superintendent Richard Stokes released a statement regarding the passing of Timothy.
“Our hearts ache for all the families and individuals involved in the car accident in Kings Canyon. We learned yesterday from law enforcement that one of our students passed away. Throughout the day today, the administration at Carson High School has provided and will continue to provide, as needed this week, grief counseling and support for students and staff.”
Timothy was a junior at CHS, an honor student, played baseball for Carson High School and brother of three younger siblings.
Condolences have poured into the #CarsonStrong Twitter feed.
A GoFundMe page established for the families of the students has raised more than $54,500.
