Carson City emergency crews called to crash involving motorcycle on Airport Road
UPDATE 2:26PM: Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Saturday afternoon to an accident involving a motorcycle in the 1500 block of Airport Road.
The single-vehicle crash was reported at around 1:40 p.m. and involves a downed rider on a dirt bike. A Care Flight air ambulance was ordered due to injuries. The Carson City Fire Department battalion chief instructed the helicopter to land near the crash.
It left the scene at 2:13 p.m. with the injured patient, an adult male, who was being flown to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center in Reno, said Carson City Battalion Chief Dan Shirey.
Traffic was diverted around the incident. Motorists are advised to stay clear of the area and to expect delays. The cross streets are Menlo and Woodside Drive.
Nevada Highway Patrol was also called to the scene. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
