A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI, driving with an expired license, minor consuming alcohol, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to stop at a stop sign, reckless driving and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.

According to the arrest report, a deputy observed a black side-by-side off road vehicle traveling west on Nye Lane at around midnight Wednesday. The vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign and continued westbound. The deputy activated his light and attempt to stop the vehicle.

The vehicle failed to stop to the flashing lights and so the deputy activated the sirens. The vehicle then accelerated and traveled at approximately 55 mph, not yielding for dips in the roadway. The vehicle continued several blocks and again failed to stop at a stop sign at Airport Road.

The vehicle continued and then stopped at the intersection of Nye Lane and Bunch Way. Dispatch radioed the deputy that Lyon County Sheriff’s Office informed them earlier of a vehicle matching the description that was involved in eluding of their deputies while on a traffic stop.
