According to the report, at around 9:30 p.m. a SET sergeant made a felony traffic stop on a vehicle at Table Rock Drive and New Drive after after the license plate returned as stolen vehicle.
The driver, Santa-Cruz, was told to exit the vehicle where she was placed in custody. She told officers she bought the vehicle from her ex-boyfriend. Deputies also contacted the passenger, Alderson. A K9 dog alerted positive to the presence of narcotics in a exterior sniff, according to the report.
Located in the vehicle was a baggie in a backpack on the passenger side, which tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine. Also found was a piece of plastic wrap on the driver's side dashboard, which tested positive for methamphetamine, the report states.
Officers took Alderson into custody and was preparing to take her to the detention facility, when she began screaming and yelling.
Meanwhile, the registered owner of the vehicle was contacted and stated he did not sell the vehicle to Santa-Cruz and that he still had a lien on the vehicle. A binder was found with a handwritten bill of sale. The owner denied ever signing the bill, the report states.
The SET sergeant ran a record and driver's license check on Santa-Cruz, which DMV returned she only had a Nevada identification card. The vehicle was towed.
Upon arrival at jail, deputies discovered a glass pipe and a baggie on Alderson's person, with .8 grams of methamphetamine. The woman went into a fit of rage and fought with officers, biting one deputy on the finger causing him to bleed. The injury was approximately an inch-long laceration, the report states.
Meanwhile officers located a credit card among Santa-Cruz's property, while searching the vehicle. The card belonged to another person. That person was contacted and said they did not give Santa-Cruz permission to have the card. Bail for Anderson: $20,000. Bail for Santa-Cruz, $10,000.
