Toccata-Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus performs Handel's Messiah this holiday season
Messiah was first performed in Dublin, Ireland on March 23, 1742, and was conducted by its composer, George Frederic Handel. It continues to be a masterpiece that has left audiences in awe for 277 years. The Toccata production is a celebration of the holidays and includes not only favorite selections from Messiah Parts One and Three but also seasonal carols that the audience will be most welcome to join in singing.
The first performance is Saturday, December 3 at 3:00 pm at the Truckee High School Auditorium (11725 Donner Pass Road).

— Sunday, December 11 at 3 p.m. at Cornerstone Church in Incline Village, 300 Country Club Dr - Friday, December 16 at 6:30 p.m. at St John’s Presbyterian Church in Reno, 1070 W. Plumb Lane
— The final presentation will be Sunday, December 18, at 3 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, South Lake Tahoe.
The Messiah series marks the completion of Toccata’s 17th Season. Joining the Toccata Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus for this production are Joy Strotz, Anne Davidson, and Madison Hatten sopranos; Amanda Price, mezzo; Robert Bousquet, Michael Lloyd, tenors; and Stuart Duke, Chris Nelson, and Erik Linnell, baritones. The Toccata Chamber Orchestra features Heidi Modr as concertmaster; David Brock and Nick Haines as continuo; and William Cates and Joe Savage on Baroque trumpets. All performances will be conducted by Maestro James Rawie.
