Carson City emergency crews respond to I-580 crash involving deer
Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called early Sunday evening to a vehicle crash involving a deer on I-580 near the north Carson Street exit and a secondary crash due to traffic backup.
At around 4:55 p.m. dispatch received multiple calls of a crash involving a vehicle in the southbound lane that collided with a deer between the Eastlake exit and north Carson Street exit.
Arriving emergency responders report a single vehicle crash involving a deer, with the occupants out of the vehicle and no serious injuries being reported.
There was a secondary crash near the first crash involving two other vehicles, according to dispatch. Carson City Fire Department paramedics report at least one person was injured and having trouble walking.
NDOT has been called to remove the deer carcass from the road. Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol division also responded for traffic control.
